If you want that classic, prairie-look, this is the plant. Prairie Blazing Star (Liatris pycnostachya) is a bit taller and more rugged than the "Dense" variety. It’s a magnet for Monarchs during their migration. We've tested this in full sun, and it’s remarkably drought-tolerant once it gets its roots down. It provides a massive burst of color right as the season is shifting, and the seed heads offer great winter interest for birds.
